I am also on the same boat.Application filled on 5th June still no news,checks have not been cleared yet.
My 485 applications reached NSC on June 4th, 2007. I have called my attorney. They haven't received anything so far. I need to wait for few more days./

I applied for the first time in 2001, and then in 2005 (due to relocation) and ended up at the backlog center. Another relocation and now my PD is March 2007, and these recent wannabes want Perm approved in 1 month, I-140 premium processing in few days and then onto I-485 which should be current with no retrogression. Amen !! When do you want the USCIS to bend over for you?

8/19/2008(Monday) 7 AM: Got "Welcoming the new Permanent resident.." email, saying 485 was approved on 8/18/2008.
8/19/2008(Monday) 9 PM: Got "Card production Ordered" Email.
8/22/2008(Friday) 1 PM: Got "Approval Notice Sent" Email.
8/23/2008(Saturday) : Got Physical Welcome notice on I797 form, mailed by USCIS on 8/18/2008
8/25/2008(Monday): Got PHYSICAL CARDS in mail. :)

The goal of this action item is to get as many impacted EB folks to write to/talk to their lawmakers. i assume that is why this action item was announced on the public forum.
For every anti-immigrant who might view this message, we hope that there will be 20-50 EB folks who speak up and act on the action item. We cannot be scared of opposition and limit every action item to members only...that way we will never get a mass response that is required for such an initiative.

You will see a date on I-485 only if you filed I-140 & I-485 concurrently. Even my I-485 does not have any priority date.
Do you have Pritority Date written on your I-485's notice of action? It's blank for me.

I read this as moste h1 extensions are being denied, and think to myself, why are we so sruprised. The body shoppers abuse the system for such a long time, they had it coming to them. But so what, people who are being affected by this are the poor consultants themselves, who put all their trust in these body shoppers and in some cases paid high amounts to come to US. BOdy shoppers are not being affected by this in anyways. They should be fined if the US rejects an H1 for illegal hire. I just hope that consultants are given enough time to apply at other places.

I was lucky and I knew what the law stated about my criminal record. You can search the forum and will find out what I am talking about. so to all who have been rejected, please research the if the denial is wrong then please file appeal. In most cases, the appeal will be reviewd the driector of the district. So please dont give up.

I am really surprised that you guys are contemplating on going against your employer for a employment letter and filing your GC. I mean, how hard is it for you guys to agree to the terms of your employer that you will work till you get your GC and upto 6 months beyond that..
If you guys came before 2001-2002 and seen how the situation was for green card filers you will now what I am talking about..
1. There was no concurrent filing of I-140/485
2. There was no premium processing for Labor
3. There was no premium processing for I-140
4. There was no AC-21, so there is no way of switching jobs..
Still it used to take 4-5 years to get a GC.

Hello All,
Talked to my lawyer today about the checks; they have been encashed for myself and my spouse on 9/4. My RN starts with SRC.
My I-140 was approved from Texas and my AOS/485 was mailed on july 2nd and arrived on july 3rd to NSC.
Just a curious question for those you have already received their RN#. When checking the case status it displays "I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS "...will this message change when EAD has been approved and mailed?

NSC's receipting up-date is like fooling us around. It seems to me that if they touched one application with a date - July 24 - then it will declare in the Receipting up-date that it is already processing July 24 cases and yet, they are not yet finished with July 2 to 23 applications.
